Marsha Reed Keller, 70, of 119 Kylers Corner Road, Kersey, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Philadelphia on February 7, 1950, a daughter of the late C. William and Ruth Eckert Reed. The family soon moved back to Ridgway and Marsha became a lifelong resident of Elk County. Marsha graduated from Ridgway High School in 1968. She graduated from Penn State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree. On June 12, 1976 she married Michael Keller, who survives.
In 1975, Marsha started a career as a Program Specialist at Elcam Inc. She left the workforce to devote her time raising and homeschooling her children. She next worked as a Behavioral Health worker for children at Beacon Light until her retirement in 2014.
Marsha loved reading, animals, gardening, camping, music, traveling, and good conversation. She possessed a wealth of information. Marsha never hesitated to lend a helping hand to others. The warmth of her smile was a reflection of the warmth and love she showered on her family and friends. Spending time with her grandkids was a joy and priority with her. She loved to read to them and let them “help” her garden and cook.
In addition to her parents, Marsha was preceded in death by a brother, C. William Reed Jr. and his husband, Alex McIntyre.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Keller (Dawn) of Harrisburg and Aaron Keller (Jessie) of Warren; her three grandsons: Michael Paul Keller, Leo Keller, and Eric Keller; her granddaughter, Kit Keller; her sister, Carol Reed (Rita Pavetto); her brother, Donald Reed (Kathryn); her close friend, Noreen Wiegand; along with many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Per her wishes there will be no visitation. A picnic celebration of Marsha’s life will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ruth E. Reed Memorial Nursing Scholarship Fund, Elk County Community Foundation, PO Box 934, St. Marys, PA 15857.
