Alvin J. Wolfe | 91

July 9, 1929 - December 23, 2020

Alvin J. Wolfe, 91, of 1764 Bucktail Trail, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at his residence.

He was born July 9, 1929, in St. Marys, son of the late Joseph M. and Loretta Eckert Wolfe.  Alvin was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1947.  He was a member of the Queen of the World Church.

On September 15, 1951, in the St. Boniface Church, Alvin married Alberta L. Schneider who passed away on April 19, 2013.  He is survived by three daughters: Beverly Feldbauer (Thomas) of St. Marys, Diane Verne (David) of Brockway, and Lori King (Crist) of Martinsburg, PA; by four sons: Jeffrey Wolfe (Mary) of Kersey, Dale Wolfe (Lori) of St. Marys, Dr. Karl Wolfe (Debbie) of St. Marys, and Dennis Wolfe (Ann) of St. Marys; by twelve grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by two sisters, Doris Woelfel and Jean Brem and by two brothers, David Wolfe (Florence) and James Wolfe, all of St. Marys.

In addition to his wife and parents, Alvin was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Wolfe; by one sister, Roseann Mahovlich; and by three brothers: Dennis Wolfe, Vincent Wolfe, and Joseph Wolfe.

Alvin was involved in many business ventures.  He was manager at St. Marys Precision Homes for 26 years.  He was self-employed as an excavator and consultant for many jobs with Alvin J. Wolfe Excavating.  He co-owned the former St. Marys Clay Products as well as Center Rental.  He was a proud veteran of United States Army, serving our country during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Elk County Cursillo Movement.  He was a member of the American Legion, the CMF, the Eagles, the Moose, and the VFW clubs.  Of all the commitments in Alvin’s life, his children and his marriage to his wife, Alberta, were most important to him.

A private visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.

Alvin’s family is invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Monday, December 28, 2020, at 12:00 PM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Catholic School System, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.
