Donna J. Schatz, 85, of 185 Center Street, Elk Towers, and formerly of West Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Lutheran Home at Kane, after a brief illness.
She was born May 31, 1935, in Bradford, daughter of the late John and Emma Irene Schoolmaster Bean. Donna was a graduate of Smethport High School, Class of 1954 and had been a resident of St. Marys for the majority of her life. She was a retired secretary for Dr. Lepovetsky.
On February 18, 1957, in the Queen of the World Church, Donna married Milton A. “Beak” Schatz who preceded her in death on April 14, 2003.
She is survived by two daughters: Barbara Orsich and her husband Andrew of St. Marys and Diane White and her husband Michael of Wala Wala, WA; two sons: John C. Schatz and his wife Linda of Emporium and Jeffrey A. Schatz and his wife Karen of St. Marys; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and by several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
In addition to her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Schatz, in infancy; a son, Mark A. Schatz; and by her brother, John Bean. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Donna was a member of the St. Marys Moose as well as the Fox Township Senior Center, where she enjoyed spending time with her friends.
There will be no visitation.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Hallton Church of Christ at 657 Evergreen Drive, Ridgway, PA 15853 on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ron Burkett, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter, 110 West 10th Street, Suite 212, Erie, PA 16501.
