Edward E. Mattivi, 78, of 110 Edward Road, St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

He was born September 4, 1942, at his home in Toby, son of the late Augustino and Aurelia Mattiuz Mattivi.  Ed was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School.  He was a retired employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company.

On October 12, 1963, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ed married Mary Ann Ehrensberger, who survives.  In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by three sons: Michael E. Mattivi (Judy) of Sarver, PA; Anthony T. Mattivi (Mary) of St. Marys; and Todd A. Mattivi (Tracy) of St. Marys; by seven grandchildren: Nathan, Michaela, Marcy, Casey, Abby, Chloe, and Jaiden; and two sisters: Ann Uhl of St. Marys and Lucy Gnan (Skip) of St. Marys; and by many Mattivi and Ehrensberger nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicholas; his sister, Isabel Mattivi; and by six brothers: Bruno, Irvin, Raymond, Casey, Renaldo, and John.

Ed was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tending his vegetable garden, making wine, working on his many “fix-it” projects, and especially spending time with his family, extended family, and friends.

Due to virus concerns, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Ed at a future date to be announced.
