Frederick P. Hillebrand | 93

August 29, 1930 - September 27, 2023

Frederick P. Hillebrand, 93, of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, after a brief illness.

He was born August 29, 1930, in Ambridge, PA, son of the late Joseph and Ida Hillebrand. A lifelong resident of the area, Fred was a retired employee of Airco Speer Carbon Company.

On November 29, 1952, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he married Audrey R. Wickett, who survives. They were blessed to share nearly 71 years of marriage.

Fred is also survived by his four daughters: Sharon Brem, Linda Hillebrand, Patricia Hillebrand, and Sandra Spicher (Christopher); two granddaughters: Amy Morrissey (Matt) and Ashley Bissert (Peter); one great-granddaughter, Emory Bissert; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Bertha DeJulio; four brothers: Albert, William, Carl, and Arthur Hillebrand; two siblings in infancy; and by his son-in-law, Joseph Brem.

Fred was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman, and in his earlier years he enjoyed bowling.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Monday, October 2, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Sunday, October 1, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 East Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to a favorite charity.
