Gerald H. “Fuzzy” Lenze | 90

November 2, 1930 - January 21, 2021

Gerald H. “Fuzzy” Lenze, 90, of 737 Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois, after a brief illness.

He was born November 2, 1930, in Kersey, son of the late Herman and Catherine Gahr Lenze.  Fuzzy was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1948.  He was a retired employee of Pure Carbon, retiring in 1992 after 34 years of service.

On July 16, 1955, in the Sacred Heart Church, Fuzzy married Dorothy M. Hnath, who preceded him in death on March 6, 2016.

He is survived by four daughters: Geraldine Geer and her husband Bert of St. Marys; Mary Kay Lenze of St. Marys; Patricia Aaron of Brandy Camp; and Jacqueline Rooker and her husband Jack of Kersey; his son, Herman Lenze of St. Marys; eight grandchildren: Jennifer Mazza, Alex Geer (Nate Freeman), Matthew (Tiera) Geer, Jacob Geer, Sara (Rob) Bennett, Adam (Sheena) Aaron, Lucas Lenze (Morgan Lower), and Jared Lenze; five great-grandchildren: Bella Robertson, Mitchell Bennett, Zeta Aaron, Gracen Bennett, and Mary “Rosie” Aaron; by two sisters: Beverly Lenze and Mary “Mazie” Feldbauer, both of St. Marys; and by a sister-in-law, Irene Hnath of St. Marys.

In addition to his wife and parents, Fuzzy was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Lenze.

Fuzzy was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving our country in the Korean War.  He was a member of the PFL, the American Legion, the St. Marys Beagle Club, the VFW, and was a former member of the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Sacred Heart Church on Monday, January 25, 2021, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Michael Gabler, OSB, Pastor, officiating.  Full military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Monday morning, from 9:30 until 10:30 AM.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail at 168 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
