Jacquelyn M. Himes, 75, of 211 Irishtown Road, Kersey, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Penn Highlands DuBois, after a brief illness.
She was born January 16, 1946, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Hilary and Marie Brennen Wehler. Jacquelyn was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Elk County Catholic High School, Class of 1964.
She was a former employee of the Stackpole Carbon Company, quitting work when her first daughter was born. After her daughters were in high school, she went back to work at various retail stores, including Burke Brothers, Fashion Bug, and the Thoughtfulness Shoppe.
On May 6, 1967, in the Queen of the World Church, Jacquelyn married Harry A. Himes, Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are her two daughters: Christine Greenthaner (Daniel) and Pamela Himes Smith (Mark Ecklund), both of Kersey; two granddaughters: Cheyanne Smith of Kersey and Chelsea Smith of Erie; her sister, Joyce Cuneo of Columbus, OH; her brother, Wayne Wehler (Patty) of St. Marys; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jacquelyn was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Gerald Cuneo.
Jacquelyn was a member of the St. Boniface Church as well as the Fox Township Senior Center. She was a very loving and giving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved to work in her flower gardens and spend time at their pond with family and friends, having camp fires, picnics, boating, fishing, and spending time with her granddaughters. She really enjoyed playing Bingo at the Fox Township Senior Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Boniface Church on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. Ross Miceli, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the St. Boniface Church Gathering Space on Saturday morning, from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the St. Boniface Church, 355 Main Street, Kersey, PA 15857.
