Judith M. Glatt, 84, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 410 Washington Street, St. Marys, passed away Friday, October 27, 2023 at Pinecrest Manor following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 26, 1939 in the St. Joseph’s Convent in St. Marys, daughter of the late John “Jack” and Antoinette “Tony” Crawford Smith. She was a lifelong resident of St. Marys and graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1957.
On August 13, 1960, in Sacred Heart Church, she married the late, Donald J. Glatt, who preceded her in death on February 27, 2017.
Judy is survived by a daughter, Amy Bloam (Jay) of Ridgway; three sons: Mark Glatt (Melanie) of Palmer, AK, Sam Glatt (Barb) of St. Marys, and John Glatt (Leslie) of Henrico, VA; twelve grandchildren: Jacob Glatt, Tanya Glatt, Kyle Bloam (Raquel), Rachel Detsch (Ryan), Elizabeth Snowden (Trevor), Simon Glatt, Victoria Glatt, Anna Glatt, Kaitlyn Glatt (Ian Kels), Matthew Glatt (Heather), Margaret Glatt, and Joshua Glatt; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She loved flower gardening, cooking, and the holidays. She wouldn’t let a holiday pass without making sure her house was decorated. She was a great cook and loved the company of others, especially her family. There was nothing more important to her than her children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 10:30AM in the Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
The family would like to thank all those at Pinecrest Manor for the care that they displayed for Judy. It will not be forgotten.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the St. Marys Public Library, 127 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.
Deepest sympathy to the Glatt family. When visiting Donnie she was always so kind and had a great smile. Sorry I was unable to make the church services as I had Dr. Appointments in DuBois. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
To Judy’s children and extended family, please accept my deepest condolences.
I just loved Judy, I took care of her for years at PCM and got such joy from her. She reminded me of my late mother. We would tease each other and laugh and talk. She will be missed.
I still have a Christmas tree ornament that you all gave me years ago when you got together at the facility and made them.
You all have my sympathy.
Teresa Pontzer, RN
