Martha Lucille Knepper | 81

September 4, 1941 - March 31, 2023

Martha Lucille Knepper, 81, of Erie Avenue, St. Marys, passed away, Friday, March 31, 2023, at Penn Highlands Elk.

She was born September 4, 1941, in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Maurice and Alberta Heiberger.  Martha was a lifelong resident of the area, attended Johnsonburg and St. Marys schools, and was employed by Elcam as an operator.

On September 9, 1972 in Cresson, PA, Martha married the late Raymond B. Knepper, who preceded her in death on October 24, 2010.

She is survived by her sisters Anna Mae Grube of Clearfield and Marlene Wilson of St. Marys; her nieces and nephews; and by her many cousins.

In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Norman and Allen Heiberger.

Martha was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.  She enjoyed Bingo, bowling, Cornhole, and coloring.  She participated in the Special Olympics where she won several medals and was very proud of her accomplishments.  She found the most joy spending time with her family especially her cousins during all family gatherings.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 with the Rev. Thomas Curry, OSB, officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM until the time of service.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Elk/Cameron Special Olympics, P.O. Box 794, St. Marys, PA 15857.

  8. Lucille was a lovely, caring lady who always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She had a wonderful outlook on life and I always enjoyed talking to her. She will sadly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Lucille was one in a million! Rest in peace, Lucille.

  15. I worked with Lucy at Elcam years ago and what an infectious laugh, smile and personality she had! Once she met you, she never forgot your name. I’m so sorry to hear that she’s no longer with us, but I’m sure she’s reunited with her Ray in heaven. Rest in peace, Lucy.
