Mary Kathryn “Kathy” Farrell, 83, of St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Kathy was born July 19, 1941, in Norfolk, VA, daughter of the late George and Bernadette Kosco. Her father was a Captain in the Navy and part of her childhood was spent in Alaska which prepared her for the western PA winters. She was a graduate of Maryknoll High School in Hawaii, Class of 1958 and continued her studies at Rosemont College where she met many of her lifelong friends who she graduated with in 1962.
Kathy is survived by her loving children: William “Bill” Farrell (Katie Stanko) of Indiana, PA, Kathryn “Kate” Farrell (Josh Buckno) of Washington, DC, Margaret “Molly” Richmond (Andrew) of Cherry Hill, NJ; one grandson she adored, Max; a sister, Ann Schaffner of Freiburg, Germany; a brother, William Kosco of Carlisle, PA; and numerous cousins and nieces.
Kathy loved to cook and spread her love through every dish she made. When she wasn’t in the kitchen, she could be found hunting down a good bargain, unearthing a hidden treasure at a garage sale, playing bridge, attending Mass or at book club. She was also never far from her beloved pets who accompanied her on many adventures.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00AM with Rev. Ignatius Carmello, O.S.B., celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 9:00AM until 10:30AM.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Elk County Humane Society, 1029 E. Eschbach Road, St. Marys, PA 15857.

My sincere condolences on the passing of Kathy. She was my roommate at Rosemont for two years and we shared many happy fun moments.
