Mary R. Mallison | 92

June 29, 1929 - June 22, 2022

Mary Reuscher Mallison, 92, of Gaithersburg, MD, and formerly of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, in Potomac, MD.

She was born June 29, 1929, in St. Marys, daughter of the late Benedict R. and Edna R. Lanzel Reuscher, the first of nine children.  She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1947 and furthered her education at Villa Maria College where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education.

On August 24, 1957, in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mary married James B. “Mally” Mallison, who preceded her in death on February 1, 2014.

She is survived by two daughters: Barbara M. Zellers (Toby) of Damascus, MD and Catherine M. Little (Larry) of Falls Church, VA; two sons: Gregory R. Mallison (Lori) of Doylestown, PA and Thomas M. Mallison (Ann) of State College, PA; nine grandchildren: Douglas, Mary, Henry, Margaret, Emma, Catherine, Michael, Sam, and Alexandra; two sisters: Catherine Brennen of St. Marys and Alicia Gleixner of West Palm Beach, FL; two brothers: Robert B. Reuscher (Ann) of Naples, FL and Timothy R. Reuscher (Barbara) of St. Marys; by two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Reuscher and Mary Lou Reuscher, both of St. Marys; and by one brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Mallison of Saratoga, CA.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son in infancy, Timothy; and four brothers: William, Conrad, Thomas, and Richard Reuscher.

She had a love for dancing and flowers and nothing was more important to her than her faith and her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at 10:00AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM.

  1. So sorry to hear of Mary’s passing. She and her husband were both our teachers at Central many years ago. I often think of Mary and the office skills she taught me as I am still using them daily at Sacred Heart. With our thoughts and prayers, deepest sympathy on your loss.
