Patrick A. Bayer | 67

August 10, 1956 - May 19, 2024

Patrick A. Bayer, 67, of Oil City, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024 following a short illness at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, PA.

He was born August 10, 1956, son of the late Andrew X. and Edith Meyer Bayer.  He was a lifelong resident of St. Marys until lately and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1975.  He worked at SGL for many years and also drove a truck for Eagle Express.  In recent years he loved working and helping out at a local shelter, being of help to them in various ways which made him most fulfilled in life.  He also would fill in at the local Taco Bell when they needed someone.  His biggest enjoyment was the days spent with his son who meant so much to him.

Patrick is survived by his sons, Kaiden Bayer and Shawn Bayer; a sister, Mary Jo Goetz (Jerry); nieces, Nicole Stromberger (Paul), Heather Goetz (Nick Scandora); nephew, Matthew Goetz (Jill); great-nephews: Logan and Lucas Simbeck, Zachery Stromberger, and Tyler and Colten Goetz; and his estranged wife, Crystal Heffner Bayer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Henery and Josephine Hoehn Meyer; paternal grandparents, Andrew “Pat” and Gertrude Erich Bayer; along with many aunts and uncles who were a great part of his life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Church on June 8, 2024 at 10:00AM.  The family will gather for a brief gathering from 9:15AM until the time of service in the Maurus Street entrance of the Church.  Full Military rites will be accorded by the St. Marys Servicemen’s Burial Detail.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Emmaus Haven of Venango, 580 Colbert Avenue, Oil City, PA 16301.  This was a place very dear to Patrick’s heart.
