Peter C. Bosnik | 68

January 8, 1957 - January 16, 2025

Peter C. Bosnik, 68, of 319 Sorg Street, St. Marys, PA passed away unexpectedly Thursday January 16, 2025 at his residence.

He was born January 8, 1957, in St. Marys, son of the late Edward and Elizabeth “Betty” Straub Bosnik.  He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1975.  Pete was employed by the Straub Brewery, where he dedicated fifty years to the organization.

Pete is survived by his brothers, David Bosnik (Kim) of St. Marys and Doug Bosnik (Kyra) of John’s Island, SC; nieces and nephews: Cameron Bosnik, Casey Holzgrefe (Kevin), Tricia Stauffer (Devin), Brittney Timm (Craig), and Jesse Bosnik (Amanda); and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Matthew, in infancy.

Pete was a faithful parishioner of Queen of the World Church, where he was an usher for many years.  He belonged to the CMF and PFL and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and horseshoes.  He loved his family dearly and could always be found supporting his nieces and nephews in their many activities.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Queen of the World Church on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 11:00AM with Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, celebrating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Queen of the World Church, 134 Queens Road, St. Marys, PA 15857 or to the Elk County Catholic School System, 600 Maurus Street, St. Marys, PA 15857.

  1. Pete was about as genuine as they come! I enjoyed throwing horseshoes with him. He did not like to lose to anyone. He will be missedI We will pray for him and his family.

  3. My deepest sympathies. Pete was such a kind person with a ready smile. He was so helpful. Over many years he helped me plan my yearly family trips to camp. He looked out for us. I am grateful. We will miss him.
