Saige H. O’Dell, 26, of 507 Light Road, St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
She was born on January 20, 1994 in DuBois, daughter of Scott and Lynn Gerber Leidwinger of St. Marys. Saige graduated from St. Marys Area High School, class of 2012 and resided in St. Marys her entire life. She was employed by SGL Carbon in St. Marys.
On September 15, 2018, in the Queen of the World Church, Saige married Eric J. O’Dell who survives. Along with her husband and parents, Saige is survived by her son, Rowen and by her sister Maranda Leidwinger of St. Marys. She is survived by her paternal grandparents, Eugene and Joan Leidwinger and by her maternal grandmother, Lorrainne Gerber.
Saige was preceded in death by her twin sister, Paige, in infancy and by her maternal grandfather, Pete Gerber.
Those that were closest to Saige knew that she struggled greatly with depression and anxiety but all those that came in contact with her instantly liked her. Saige thought with her heart first. Her family, friends, complete strangers, and countless animals benefitted from her compassionate nature. She would welcome strangers into her house for shelter. She would take the time to offer them food, money, and conversation. She had a huge heart.
A private visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Jeffery Noble, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
